Health Care Reform, The Finish Line

Sounds like there'll be a vote on the health care reform bill this Sunday.  I, for one, am ready.  My viewpoint has not wavered from the very beginning of this discussion, well over a year ago.  Philosophically, I know that passing this bill (while it's far from the reform I was hoping for) is the right thing to do.  I am not proud of the fact that we call ourselves the greatest nation in the world, and we let our citizens suffer and die.  Yeah, I know.  A lot of you don't agree.  And at this point, I'm just going to have to be okay with that.

This morning, I stumbled across this list of biblical references about helping others.  I have no other argument at this time.

I have called my representatives.  I have emailed them.  I have talked (and talked and talked) to my friends about it.  I really love democracy.  When we have an issue, or an opinion, we can get involved.  For that, I am grateful.

Whatever happens from here, I made my voice heard.

i like what your uncle has to say about this, at least in his status updates.

i can understand the opinion of the conservatives who don't feel they should pay for others, because we should work hard to take care of our own needs, but, i cannot understand the logic, or line of thinking, where it also equals making others suffer, if indeed we are capable of helping.

if my knee is weak, because i've not been doing my exercise, and i fall down next to you, would you help me up, or keep going, since both your knees are strong? to me, the healthcare issue is as simple as that.
Christian or not, a community works best when the people work together.

Thank you, Jen. Simple as that. And it's a philospical debate, which is hard if someone simply doesn't agree. Your thoughts are reflective of your soul...I appreciate you sharing them.

It's been an interesting year, that's for sure. I feel like I need a vacation. :)

Oy, Jake. Do I know you? Clearly you don't know me. And haven't been following my blog. If you want to send me a message or let me know that you're someone I know, I'll be happy to replace your comment.
