Books I'm working on...

I was spring cleaning my room today and made a nice pile of the books I'm reading or waiting to read.
Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
The Dive from Klausen's Pier by Ann Packer (on loan from a friend)
Lucky by Alice Sebold (on loan from a friend)
Inside the Jihad by Omar Nasiri
Blind Spots by Madeline Van Hecke
Gorgeously Green by Sophie Uliano

Updated after Libby's comment: I have Change Your Thoughts, Change your Life on CD in this picture. It's written by Dr. Wayne Dyer. He has a dreamy voice and and an amazing heart and I can't wait to listen to it!

-----------------------

Friday Night Knitting Club: Don't bother. I quit half way through. Mindless.
Twilight: I tried. Honest. It just doesn't do it for me. (Less the subject matter, more the style I didn't like.)

Geez Louiz. Get crackin', woman! I probably would like the Knitting Club one- I like mindless. You and I have had that discussion- about you being smart and liking smart books, and me being kinda dumb, and liking mindless books. It's cool- I have cuter elbows and toes than you.

Laura - it's a good thing I have a week-long vacation this summer to get caught up. Think my kids will let me lay on the beach for seven days and read books??

Besides, you're smart.

what about the other book I got you for your b-day?

Man! That is a lot of (really big) books.

I'm adding these to my ever-growing list. I've been wanting to read The Other Boleyn Girl. I first saw it mentioned in People magazine. I LOVE historical novels.

Have you started reading it?

I've read Dive from Clausen's Pier and enjoyed it...interesting tale of the main character's life after such an accident. And I just saw The Other Boleyn Girl (movie) last weekend and loved the history and story of the sisters. You've got some great reading ahead of you, Leanne! :)

Jen - I haven't started it. I also recommend The Lady Elizabeth and Innocent Traitor by Jennifer Weir (I think). They're so good!

I loved The Other Boleyn Girl. Actually, I loved almost all of her Tudor period novels. I just read Pleasure Palace (Kate Emerson, I think) - about the same period - also good.

I think I read the Friday Night Knitting Club. I know I had it on my list to-read but I was at B&N one day and I would swear it was in the stack that I finished while there. Hmmm .. if that was it, it was pretty good.

I am half-way though the Change Your Thoughts one .. but I keep getting sidetracked by other books. Not that it's not good, LOL, I am just easily sidetracked.

Libby - I have Change your Thoughts on CD. I adore Dr. Dyer, but I can't read his books. I could listen to his voice all day, though!

ah - now that I look at it again, it does look like a CD. :)

I like reading them .. but I'll try one on CD sometime, so I can hear his voice. I am curious now.

The Other Boleyn Girl is a good book. I just read it recently. Leanne, I bet you'd like it. it was similar to Pillars of the Earth in that it follows a extended period of time. And if you can't read Twilight can I have it back?

Chrissy - it's on my counter ready to bring to you tonight. :)

I'm trying to remember if I read Uncle Tom's Cabin- I think I started it but didn't finish it before the overdue fines started racking up. Looks like a good book list. I love that you took a picture of them!

Oh geez...! :) I need to get to the library. My list of books-to-read has gotten out of control. I haven't read in years and keep threatening to start again. (Mostly because of all the work we have around here, and the junk projects I need to be getting done.)

Thanks for the other recommendations. I added them to the list! Actually, I've been keeping a list of everyone's recommendations. Note to self: Make a trip to the library. Soon.
