For Elizabeth

Many of you know Elizabeth because she comments on my blog frequently. I knew her casually when we were younger, and I'm happy to say that I know her better now. I hope she doesn't mind me gushing, but she is goodness personified in so many ways. She's sweet and caring and loving. And this billboard in the Twin Cities reminds me of her. Because when she was younger, she was called Libby. I still refer to her as that because something inside of me doesn't recognize her as Elizabeth. But by either name, she is my friend. And that makes me happy. Here's to you, Libby!

You are such a sweetheart. I'm glad we reconnected and I know you better now too.

I love that billboard! I have a coworker with a sister named Elizabeth. That's what they call her. I told him to report back when she gets older to see if she wants to use a nickname. Almost every Elizabeth I knew who went by a nickname when they were growing up wanted to use Elizabeth eventually. I'm curious if it works the other way ..

I thought of Libby when I saw that sign as well. I love the name Elizabeth- but I'm kind of partial :)

You're so sweet.

I can relate to that!

Growing up, I was always 'Jenny' but I always wanted to be called by my full name, 'Jennifer'. Thankfully, most people have caught on to that by now. So much so, that 'Jenny' always sounds so foreign to me.
